|
|
Join us in Downtown Burbank Thursday,
September 21 from 5:30 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. when the Taste of Downtown
Burbank returns for another helping. Enjoy delicious specialties served by
more than 35 restaurants and eateries outdoors on San Fernando Boulevard
between Magnolia and Orange Grove. Sample drinks at the Beer and Wine
Garden on the AMC Walkway.
Listen
& dance to live bands like mainstream jazz guitarist The Doug MacDonald
Trio, national a capella champions, The Perfect Gentlemen, Doo-wop and
rock 'n roll greats The Amazing Platters performing free at San Fernando
and Palm. Proceeds benefit the Burbank Community YMCA financial
scholarship fund, which makes YMCA programs affordable to the entire
community.
In just three years, Taste of Downtown Burbank has emerged as one of the
biggest food festivals in the San Fernando Valley. Attendance leapt from
600 people in 2004 to 1,200 last year, and money raised jumped from
$20,000 to $45,000. The event also grew from 22 restaurants in 2004, to
more than 30 in 2005. 2006 promises to be bigger and better than ever.
Order tickets on-line now. The first 100 online orders of 4 or more
tickets receive a free chef's apron.
The event is presented by Downtown Burbank Partnership, Inc. in
cooperation with The Burbank Collection and KOST-FM 103.5.

DO YOU WI-FI?
Surfing the web in Downtown Burbank is as easy as 1-2-3. And best of
all, it is free. All a customer needs is a laptop with a wireless card
(most models built after 2002 have them already installed. Even
without a built-in receiver, it is easy to buy and install a "wireless
card" from any major computer store.) Downtown's Wi-Fi coverage area
extends from the Holiday Inn to Burbank Boulevard, and from the
Metrolink Station to Glenoaks. The hotspot offers many opportunities
for users to access the Internet on laptops, notebooks, smart phones,
personal digital assistants (PDAs) or hand-held game devices.
If you haven't tried using this latest step in computer technology,
please check out the complete "how-to" on the Downtown Burbank
website, www.downtown-burbank.org.
