"12 DAYS OF
HOLIDAY CHEER" HERALDS THE HOLIDAY SEASON
The 2005 holiday season signals the return of the popular and
award-winning celebration called "12 Days of Holiday Cheer," consisting
of more than 40 family-friendly happenings held over 12 days at numerous
locations in Downtown Burbank. The activities and overall theme of "12
Days of Holiday Cheer" unite the efforts of the City of Burbank, Burbank
Town Center, IKEA, KOST 103.5 FM, Radio Disney, Burbank Community YMCA
and Downtown Burbank Partnership, Inc. to make the season come alive for
all.
"12 DAYS OF
HOLIDAY CHEER" KICK-OFF EVENT
"12 Days of Holiday Cheer" kicks off Thursday, December 1 at 6:00 P.M.,
with the Mayor's Tree Lighting Ceremony at Burbank City Hall. Guests
include City Council, Santa Claus, the John Burroughs Choir and KOST
103.5 FM's on-air personality Mike Sakellarides, who will emcee. After
the Tree Lighting, Santa will be on hand until 8:00 P.M. to visit and
have photos taken with children (parents are urged to bring a camera)
while the Holiday Parade starts its journey.
The Parade, featuring the Burbank High School Marching Band, Burbank
City Council and a 1913 Mooreland fire engine, will be led by Holiday
Fanfare Trumpets. Be there as the Magical Christmas Caroling Truck makes
its first seasonal appearance. The Magical Christmas Caroling Truck is a
62-foot holiday phenomenon, a float adorned with magnificent Christmas
scenes and thousands of sparkling lights followed by Santa's Train. With
more than 200 singers and dancers amplified by a 20,000 watt sound
system, it is one of the most popular spectacles of the season. The
Parade will spread holiday cheer as it winds through Downtown streets
until 9:00 P.M.
