BURBANK TOWN CENTER RECEIVES Burbank Town Center has received two awards from General Growth Properties for initiatives created and executed at the mall in 2005. The first award was for “Best Shopping Center Sponsorship & Alternative Revenue” for the increase in film production that occurred at Burbank Town Center last year. Revenue from filming dollars increased by more than 86% from 2004.
Congratulations to Brian Gartland and his hard working team for winning these awards against 220 other shopping centers nationwide.

DOWNTOWN BURBANK RECEIVES THREE MARKETING AWARDS

POPULAR FINE ART FESTIVAL RETURNS IN JUNE Downtown Burbank presents the return of the Downtown Burbank Fine Arts and Chalk Festival, a two-day outdoor exhibition and sale of art by leading artists, designers, photographers, sculptors, ceramicists and jewelers scheduled for the weekend of June 10 and 11, 2006. All work is original, one-of-kind and executed by the artists, with nothing manufactured, imported or purchased for resale. The festival takes place on San Fernando Boulevard between Magnolia and Orange Grove, and on the AMC-16 Walkway. San Fernando Boulevard will be closed to vehicular traffic for the weekend shows. CITY OF BURBANK ANNOUNCES TAX AMNESTY PROGRAM
As an incentive for unregistered businesses to register and pay for past
Burbank business taxes owed, there will be a three month amnesty period
where there will be no penalties or monetary interest charged for past
non-payment of this tax. This program, which began on February 15, 2006,
will run through May 15, 2006. City business taxes, such as the Burbank
Business Tax, are implemented by local governments to generate revenues to
help pay for core city services, such as Police, Fire, Library Services,
and Parks and Recreation programs. If you have any questions about the

FIRE SERVICE DAY
Join the Burbank Fire Department for Fire Service Day with live
demonstrations, displays and Lil’ Squirt, Saturday, May 13 from 10:00 A.M.
to 3:00 P.M. The event takes place at the Burbank Fire Headquarters at
Orange Grove Avenue and Third Street in Downtown Burbank. Don’t miss the
Burbank Community YMCA Pancake Breakfast from 7:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M.
